Full Day Paracas – Ica

Once in Paracas, we will head to the tourist port of El Chaco to embark on an exciting speedboat excursion to the Ballestas Islands. During the navigation, we will have the opportunity to appreciate the mysterious geoglyph of El Candelabro, engraved on a hill facing the bay, while our guide shares the various theories about its origin. Around the Ballestas Islands, we will witness a vibrant marine ecosystem, home to a great diversity of fauna, including playful sea lions, the unique Humboldt penguins and a wide variety of guano birds such as boobies, sandpipers, pelicans and guanays. After exploring the Ballestas Islands and returning to the port, we will have a short free time in Paracas for those who wish to purchase a souvenir or have a snack. Then, we will continue our road trip to the city of Ica, a journey of approximately one hour.

Upon arriving in Ica, our first stop will be at a traditional winery in the region. Here, we will take a guided tour of the facilities to learn about the fascinating process of making wine and pisco, the emblematic national drink of Peru. The experience will culminate with a tasting of different varieties of wines and pisco, where we can appreciate their different characteristics and learn about their pairing. There will also be time available for those who wish to purchase some of the local products.



At lunch time, we will transfer to a local restaurant in Ica, where passengers will have free time to enjoy regional cuisine (lunch is not included in the tour price).

In the afternoon, we will take a brief city tour of Ica, visiting the historic Plaza de Armas and the ruins of the ancient temple of Luren, an important religious site that still evokes its past despite the damage suffered by the earthquakes. Optionally, and if time permits, we could visit the peculiar town of Cachiche, famous for its legends of witches and healers.

Finally, we will head to the impressive oasis of Huacachina, surrounded by immense sand dunes. We will have time to admire the landscape, observe the mermaid monument and explore the local craft center. The adrenaline will come with the exciting adventure in the dunes aboard sand buggies, which will take us at full speed through this desert landscape. We will also have the opportunity to practice sandboarding, sliding over the dunes with special boards. From the top of the dunes, we can enjoy spectacular views, especially if the weather permits, of the sunset over the desert.

At the end of the adventure in the dunes, we will return to the city of Ica to begin the trip back to our point of origin.
