Itinerary
Your adventure will begin very early, with pickup from your hotel in Cusco (around 04:00 - 04:30 AM), to transfer you to the train station in Ollantaytambo or Poroy (depending on availability and train service). From there, you will board a train to Machu Picchu Pueblo, also known as Aguas Calientes. This train ride is an experience in itself, offering spectacular views of the Sacred Valley and the transition to the lush jungle fringe. The journey takes approximately 1.5 to 3.5 hours, depending on the departure station.
When you arrive at Machu Picchu Pueblo, our staff will be waiting for you at the station to assist you. Then, you will board a Consettur bus that will take you on a panoramic climb of approximately 25 minutes along the Hiram Bingham Highway, directly to the entrance of the majestic Inca Citadel of Machu Picchu.
Once at the entrance, you will meet your professional guide, who will accompany you on an unforgettable tour of approximately 2.5 to 3 hours through the most important sectors of the citadel. You will explore its imposing plazas, sacred temples, agricultural terraces and intricate stone constructions, while your guide shares fascinating stories, the Inca worldview and the mysteries that surround this "Lost City." You will visit key points such as the Temple of the Sun, the Temple of the Three Windows, the Main Plaza and the Intihuatana, completely immersing yourself in the grandeur of this architectural masterpiece.
At the end of the guided tour, you will have free time to explore Machu Picchu on your own, capture more photographs, or simply sit back and absorb the energy and beauty of the place. After your personal time, you will take the return bus from the citadel to Machu Picchu Pueblo.
At Machu Picchu Pueblo, you will have free time for lunch (not included in the tour, to give you flexibility of choice). You can stroll through the picturesque town, visit the artisan market or relax before your return trip.
At the indicated time, you will go to the train station in Machu Picchu Pueblo to board your train back to Ollantaytambo or Poroy. Once at the arrival station, our transportation will be waiting to take you comfortably back to your hotel in Cusco, concluding this unforgettable full-day tour, approximately between 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. HRS (arrival time in Cusco may vary depending on your train schedule).
